An overview of counseling theories and associated techniques to use in individual and family counseling for persons or family members of persons struggling with addiction. Participants will have opportunities to practice techniques through in-class role plays.
1. Gain basic knowledge of counseling theories applicable to working with individuals and families with addiction struggles.
2. Gain basic knowledge of counseling techniques and interventions to use with individuals and families having addiction struggles.
3. Apply knowledge to case studies and role-plays.
