Impulse Control Skills Training in Addiction Counseling 6/21/19

Lecture/Interactive demonstration of various behavioral exercises designed to provide skills training in specific executive function faculties.
(Core Functions: Counseling, Treatment Planning, Patient Education)
1. Acquire basic knowledge of the incidence in impairment of executive function in people with addiction and the neurobiology of behavioral inhibition.
2. Review the ASAM short and long definitions of addiction with specific attention given to executive function impairment.
3. Gain basic facilitation training in select behavioral exercises.
4. Absorb and be able to impart the spirit of fun embodied in these exercises/games.
