Beginning in 2023, Counsel NOLA is proud to elected by the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services to provide the Child First service model in the Greater New Orleans and Greater Covington regions of Southeast Louisiana. Child First is an intensive, early childhood, two-generation, home visiting model that helps families build strong, nurturing relationships that heal and protect young children (prenatal through age five years) from the impact of trauma and chronic stress, with the goal of healing. Child First strives to identify children at the earliest possible time to provide care for emotional and behavioral health, developmental and learning success, and connection with services and resources to support the family’s success/wellbeing/stability. Child First has been recognized as an evidence-based home visiting model by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program and rated “Effective” by the National Registry for Effective Programs and Practice (NREPP) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA).

Homebuilders Family Therapist: Southshore
Counsel NOLA is hiring therapists to provide Homebuilders interventions to families in their homes. Therapists must have a Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling, be familiar with cognitive behavioral therapy and have good active listening skills. Transportation is required and therapists must live in one of the Florida Parishes. Homebuilders is an evidence-based program that provides intensive family counseling and crisis intervention to families whose children/adolescents are at imminent risk of being removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, risky behaviors and/or mental health concerns. This is a full-time position (35-40 hrs/wk) with benefits (medical/dental/vision, PTO time, mileage reimbursement).
Minimum qualifications: LMSW, LCSW, PLPC or LPC in Louisiana; Must reside in Greater New Orleans area. Experience working with diverse populations in the community; strong work ethic; experience in/or theoretical approach consistent with CBT/REBT and motivational interviewing; excellent written and verbal communication skills; computer literate and need own computer for online documentation system; able to pass criminal background and drug screen.
